The Ugly Truth Outing

Went to Sunway Pyramid with Yen Mei (she was on her college break) last week to enquire regarding laptop specifications as well as router, and we decided to watch "The Ugly Truth" after that. One word on "The Ugly Truth" - AWESOME! Katherine Heigl was hot (as always!), and I love the fact that she's doing more and more romantic comedies.

PERFECT 10/10

After the movie, we had a hard time deciding what to have for dinner. However, we did have one thing common in mind - refusing to have dinner in Pyramid. Therefore, off we went to Kelana Jaya. It took us approximately an hour to reach our destination as it was drizzling outside.

In the end, we had dinner at this place called The Countess - a cosy outlet with friendly service at Plaza Kelana Jaya's lakeside. It's a few shops away from Louisiana. For me, it's a better place for a drink than a dinner as they serve Guinness , Heineken etc on the tap with happy hour Guinness going for only RM12.90 for half pint.

Chef Marinated Chicken Wings priced at RM 15.90. You will immediately know the main marinate ingredient used - garlic - by taking just one bite of the chicken wings.

Chicken Hotpot Stewed with Vegetables and Potatoes @ RM21.90. I find this dish mediocre. It's nothing more than carrots, potatoes and chicken cubes stew, and It tasted like tomato soup (FYI, it should not taste like tomato soup.) This dish failed to impress us.

Oven Baked Chicken Chop with Creamy Swiss Mushroom Sauce. Chicken topped with mushroom sauce with roasted potatoes cubes as side. A good choice - the only disappointment was that the portion was too small. All of it for RM18.90 :(

I apologize for the bad quality pictures taken. This isn't really a review u know? xD

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt Screening

On 10th Sept 2009, there was a screening on 'Beyond a Reasonable Doubt' by Nuffnang in Midvalley. It was my first time attending a movie premier screening (sounded like a kampung boy lo.. HAHAHA!) All thanks to Nuffnang for the invitation. And a special appreciation to Aaron K for the lovely Malaysian styled dinner.

Edit : Not forgetting, THANK YOU San San for providing shelter for us while we enjoy our delicious dinner AND Alveena for talking me through the movie and let me hide near her whenever I was scared.

(THEY SULKED BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T MENTIONED. FREAKING CUTE LA :D)

I will frame myself for murder if Jesse Metcalfe and I would be sharing the same prison cell.. even if it’s just for the few moments while waiting for hanging.

That's the winning quote from Sydney G, the lady who invited me to the screening. And the lady that painted my nails red. And make my finger looks like it's swollen after that :)

In my opinion, the storyline of the movie was a bit dull. But the twist of the movie was amazing. Always expect the unexpected I must say, even till the very last minute :)

Rate 5/10

After the movie, we, THE LAMERS were trying to imitate the Beyond a Reasonable Doubt scene. Kids, do NOT try this in Midvalley parking lot. NO! Do NOT try this ANYWHERE! Gor gor and friends were well trained. Pfftt.. As if la...

P/S : It's more like a behind the scene actually. LMAO!

Louisiana, Plaza Kelana Jaya

I learnt about Louisiana from a friend of mine, Miss WSA. One day, I was randomly scrolling through photo albums on FB and the photos she took attracted me.

Louisiana is located beside a lake at Plaza Kelana Jaya. During my trip there, I missed the turn that we were supposed to take. It totally caught me by surprise that a restaurant with such beautiful scenery could only be found after driving through a road which can barely fit one car.

Louisiana is always a full house due to it's attractive "Eat All You Can Pasta Spaghetti" which costs only RM14.80++. It also includes a free ice lemon tea, fresh green salad, soup of the day and ice cream as dessert.

The owner of Louisiana in Plaza Kelana Jaya, Elvin Goh said “the food is not very American. Louisiana’s cuisine has a lot of seafood, pasta and meat-like steak.” Goh was working in Louisiana for about seven years and liked the place and food, which he thought of being very special. Therefore, he decided to start his own Louisiana here in Malaysia.

Rakuzen Japanese Restaurant (楽膳)

My dad favourite cuisine is japanese and he had brought us to various japanese restaurant since we were young. This have caused my current liking of japanese food. Been to Rakuzen @ SS15 a couple of times but didn't have the chances to share my dining experience there till now.

LOOK AT RAKUZEN NOT THE MERC! @_@

When it comes to Japanese food, the first thing that always comes to dad's mind is Rakuzen. If you're willing to pay the price, the quality of food is unquestionably awesome. I find the selection of sushi limited though.

P/S : It gets packed during peak-hour so walk-ins might have to wait (FOR VERY LONG). So do make your reservation.
